Police swooped after a shotgun was fired during a tense standoff between two groups in Southampton. The drama unfolded at 6.30pm on Thursday, December 19, at the junction of Meggeson Avenue and Copse Road in Townhill Park.
Injured Man Discharged; Suspects in Custody
A 23-year-old Eastleigh man was seriously wounded but luckily his injuries are not life threatening. He has since been released from hospital. Meanwhile, a dark BMW thought to be involved sped off.
Officers arrested two Southampton men – a 21-year-old and a 24-year-old – on suspicion of attempted murder. Both remain in custody as questions swirl around the chilling incident.
Police Hunt for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Inspector Nick Marsden said: “This is a serious incident and we know that news of this will be concerning for local residents. We believe it to be an isolated event.”
Investigators are canvassing neighbours, increasing patrols, and urging anyone who was near Meggeson Avenue around 6.30pm on Thursday to come forward. If you spotted a dark BMW or have dashcam footage, police want to hear from you.
