Man Pushed Off Footbridge in Whatman Park Assault

A shocking attack unfolded in Whatman Park at around 7am on Thursday, 20 October 2022.

A man in his 40s was crossing a footbridge from Kerry Hill Way into the park when he was suddenly shoved from behind. He hit his head hard on a railing, suffering a nasty cut. The victim later sought hospital treatment for his injury.

Police Hunt Witnesses to Unprovoked Attack

Police Sergeant Callum Tuckett said: “This was an unprovoked assault and we have been completing enquiries to identify those responsible.”

He added that the victim didn’t see who pushed him but noted several people were in the area at the time who might help investigators.
