Young Man Hospitalised After Woolwich Hit-and-Run

A 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Wickham Lane, Woolwich.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

The crash happened just after 1:30pm on Tuesday, November 7. Police and the London Ambulance Service quickly responded to the emergency call. On arrival, medics assessed the injured pedestrian and transported him to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Met Police Open Investigation

The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation immediately and temporarily closed the road to handle the aftermath. A Met spokesperson said:

“At around 13:30hrs on Tuesday, November 7, police were called to Wickham Road, Woolwich after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, and a 22-year-old man was taken to a local hospital. Enquiries are ongoing.”
