Ban Catapults Now! New Petition Demands Crackdown on Wildlife Crime
Petition Pushes for Tougher Catapult Laws
A fresh petition is rocking the UK, calling on the government to outlaw the sale and public carrying of catapults and their ammo. Led by campaigner Daniel Rogers, this movement aims to stamp out wildlife crime and boost public safety.
The campaign targets the growing misuse of catapults in public, especially where wildlife is at risk. Crucially, it wants police to have the power to act even if someone is carrying a catapult without ammunition.
What The Petition Wants
- Ban the sale of catapults and their ammo to stop easy access.
- Make carrying catapults in public illegal, particularly in areas hit by wildlife crime.
- Give police authority to act preemptively to deter potential offenders.
Rallying Public Support
The petition has grabbed 366 signatures so far, aiming for 10,000 to force an official government response. Reach 100,000 signatures and it could trigger a Parliamentary debate.
Supporters have until 27 May 2025 to back the cause and push for change.
