Man Left Fighting for Life After Brutal Packer Street Brawl

Just after 3am on Sunday, February 27, a man in his 30s was found unconscious on Packer Street in Rochdale town centre. Police say he had been punched and collapsed to the ground.

Two Arrested in Connection With Assault

Officers quickly arrested two men, aged 23 and 25, on suspicion of assault. Both remain in custody as detectives continue their investigation.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

“This assault has left the victim fighting for his life. It is our hope that he makes a full recovery,” said Detective Inspector Matthew Hamer of GMP’s Rochdale district.

“Though two suspects are in custody, our investigation is ongoing. We appeal to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch. It happened at the end of a night out, so witnesses, including taxi drivers, may have mobile or dashcam footage that could help.”
