Tragic Death of 12-Year-Old Boy in Whitchurch Hill Crash

A 12-year-old boy has died following a serious collision with a white van on the B471 at Whitchurch Hill. The heartbreaking incident occurred at around 12:55pm on Saturday, November 7, as the boy cycled towards Pangbourne.

Details of the Crash

The boy was riding alongside his father when the crash happened. The white Volkswagen Crafter van was travelling up Whitchurch Hill towards Crays Pond. The youngster sustained severe injuries and sadly passed away in hospital today.

The van driver stayed at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“Firstly, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who has sadly died in this incident,” said Senior Investigating Officer Sergeant Darren Brown, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Three Mile Cross.

“If you saw the boy and his father cycling in the area, or witnessed the collision involving the white Volkswagen Crafter van, please get in touch. Even in this rural spot, someone may have crucial information that could help our investigation.

“If you have dash-cam or CCTV footage from around the time, please review it and share anything important with us.”
