Cash Van Driver Attacked But Thieves Flee Empty-Handed
Two men launched a daring attack on a security van driver at a BP garage on Mansfield Road, Woodthorpe, around 2.40pm today (4 November). The pair tried to snatch a cash box but failed and fled in a waiting black car.
Police Nab Suspects Just Miles Away
Officers soon tracked down the getaway car in Staffordshire. Three men inside were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, as police continue their investigation.
Witnesses Urged to Speak Out
Detective Constable Agnes Wakenhut from Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a serious incident and our investigation is in its early stages.
“CCTV footage shows a key witness close to the offenders throughout the attack. We want to hear from her and any other witnesses.”
