Surrey Police have released shocking images showing the aftermath of a terrifying crash on the A3 near Guildford. At around 2am, a van was spotted driving north on the southbound carriageway between Thursley and Guildford. The reckless manoeuvre led to a high-impact collision with two cars, causing extensive damage to all three vehicles.
Miracle: No Serious Injuries Despite Major Smash
Officers rushed to the scene after reports of the wrong-way driver. They found the van and the two cars badly damaged, but thankfully, no one was seriously hurt. Two people were taken to hospital by ambulance, while two others left with family members. Sgt Dan Ayrton of Surrey Police praised those involved for escaping with only minor injuries.
Police Hunt Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Sgt Ayrton has called on anyone who saw the incident or the van’s dangerous driving before the crash to come forward. “If you have dash cam or CCTV footage, please contact us,” he urged. One member of the public asked if the van driver remained at the scene; police confirmed that a person is assisting with enquiries, though the investigation is ongoing.
