WW2 Bomb Scare in Bedford Turns Out to Be Dud

Police in Bedford rushed to a house on Spenser Street at around 5pm today after reports of a suspected WW2 shell surfaced.

A large cordon was instantly set up as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called in to deal with the potentially deadly device.

EOD Confirms No Danger

After careful examination, the EOD team revealed the so-called bomb was actually an empty tank shell – completely harmless and non-viable.

With no threat detected, all road closures in the area have now been lifted and residents can breathe a sigh of relief.
