Taxi Driver Threatened with Knife in Gateshead – Police Hunt Two Men
Northumbria Police are on the case after a taxi driver was threatened with a knife by two passengers in Gateshead. The terrifying incident happened around 5pm last Friday.
The Shocking Incident
The drama kicked off when two men jumped into a taxi outside Morrisons in Blaydon. They asked to be taken to Hyde Park Street in Bensham. But when they arrived, the pair refused to pay the fare. Instead, they pulled a knife on the driver and made a quick getaway.
Thankfully, the driver was not physically hurt, but he was left visibly shaken by the ordeal.
Police Hunt Suspects Using CCTV
Police are now combing through CCTV footage and launching a full investigation. They’ve released images of two men seen nearby at the time, hoping someone will come forward with info.
