Manhunt launched after pensioner attacked in hate crime on Isle of Dogs
The Met Police are hunting a thug suspected of a racist assault on a pensioner at a convenience store on the Isle of Dogs.
Attack in the dead of night
The shocking incident happened around 9:50pm on November 3 last year at Garden’s Food and Wine on Manchester Road. A man in his 60s was knocked to the ground and assaulted without provocation.
Victim suffers minor injuries
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. A Met Police spokesperson confirmed they are treating the attack as racially motivated, making the crime even more serious.
Police release CCTV image
Investigators have scoured CCTV footage from the shop and released an image of the suspect. He is described as wearing a black t-shirt or sweatshirt, with a thick moustache and beard, plus heavy black eyebrows.
PC Sean Wakem of the local policing team urged anyone who recognises the man to get in touch immediately.
