Murder Probe Launched After Man Killed in Leyton

The Met Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally attacked in Leyton in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Hammer Attack Hours Before Fatal Stabbing

Police were scrambled to Beaumont Estate in Leyton shortly after 1am on 1st September 2021. This tragic killing happened just hours after another violent incident nearby, where a man was attacked with a hammer on the High Road, also in Leyton.

Police tweeted that at 5.49pm, officers were called to reports of a fight on Leyton High Street involving a man armed with a hammer. One victim suffered a head injury and was rushed to hospital. His condition remains unknown.

No Arrests Yet, Road Closures in Place

At this stage, no arrests have been made. Officers continue to secure the crime scene with road closures and ongoing enquiries. The Met are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact police on 101, referencing CAD 5515/31 Aug.

Met Police Awaited on Incident Links

The Met Police have been approached for comment and to confirm if they are linking the hammer attack with the fatal stabbing later that night. The investigation remains open, and more updates are expected.
