Nottingham city centre chaos at 3.35am as police pull over a car weaving dangerously along Mansfield Road. Officers immediately smelled cannabis inside, raising alarm bells.
Weapons, Whiskey, and Weed Found in Shocking Search
A search of the vehicle revealed two knives, a bottle of whiskey, and cannabis. The driver, a 36-year-old man, failed a roadside breathalyser test, confirming suspicions of drink-driving.
Man Arrested on Multiple Serious Charges
The suspect was hauled in on suspicion of possession of a bladed article, drug-driving, drink-driving, and possession of a Class B drug.
“Thanks to the alertness of our officers while out on patrol, we have been able to take two dangerous weapons out of harm’s way,” said Detective Sergeant Al Roper.
“There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to carry knives in public or get behind the wheel under the influence. It puts lives at risk.”
