Domestic Call Turns Violent in Ballycarry
It all began on the morning of Saturday, August 5, when officers responded to a domestic-related call in Ballycarry. Two officers were assaulted, with one suffering cuts to the face. Police acted fast, arresting a 28-year-old man on suspicion of multiple offences, including assault on police. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Evening Violence in Ballymena Sees Officers Kicked and Injured
Later that same day, chaos erupted again in Ballymena. Two more officers were attacked after responding to a report of assault. Both were kicked; one suffered head and shoulder injuries, while the other sustained an arm injury. A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of several offences, including assault on police, and is now held in custody.
Chief Inspector Bryan Demands Zero Tolerance for Attacks on Police
“Our officers are here to help, and respond to calls every day, assisting people,” said Chief Inspector Adrian Bryan. “Assaults on officers are unacceptable and must not be tolerated as merely a part of the job.”
