Police hunt biker in pink and black helmet after officer attacked in Cowes

Officers are on the lookout for a motorcyclist wearing a striking pink and black SHOEI helmet after a police officer was assaulted in Cowes on Wednesday evening.

Officer attacked during stop search

At around 5.30pm on 13 February, a police officer tried to detain a man for a stop search under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Pallance Road. Suddenly, another man intervened and assaulted the officer before fleeing on a motorcycle.

Distinctive helmet key to identification

The suspect sped away wearing a distinctive pink and black helmet, making it a vital clue for police. He is described as:

  • White, slim build
  • Late teens to early twenties
  • Blond or brown hair
  • Pitted skin around beard line
  • Wearing a dark jacket and grey Nike tracksuit bottoms

Officer treated, public urged to come forward

The injured officer received treatment for an eye injury but thankfully faces no lasting damage. Police urge anyone who saw the biker or recognises the helmet to call 101 quoting reference 44190053752.
