Police Crack Down Hard on Illegal Off-Road Biking in Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire Police launched a robust crackdown on nuisance off-road biking, seizing multiple illegal bikes in notorious trouble spots. The force’s off-road motorbike team, backed by the Hucknall neighbourhood unit, targeted areas including Mansfield, Clipstone, Warsop, and Mansfield Woodhouse after receiving a flood of complaints about reckless, anti-social riding.

Hot-Spot Raids Nab Illegal Riders

Sunday saw police hone in on key problem areas such as Harlow Woods, Annesley Woods, Annesley Cutting, and Felley Priory. Two bikes were confiscated for having no insurance, and one rider was slapped with a Section 59 warning—effectively a legal thumping for causing a public nuisance.

Community Cheers Police Action

Sergeant Colin Morley, one of Nottinghamshire’s off-road motorbike cops, said: “Our riders received a warm reception from locals, including horse riders and dog walkers. They’re thrilled we’re tackling this menace.”

He added: “We’re taking a stand against reckless riders who ignore the law and endanger the public. Our continued efforts should reassure residents we’re listening and ready to act.”
