Massive Knife Haul Seized in Bexhill Sting
Police smashed a major knife crime operation in Bexhill on Tuesday, swooping in to confiscate a staggering 435 knives. The haul included everything from push daggers to flick knives, plus sneaky blades disguised as pens and house keys.
Weapons Banned, Suspect Under Scrutiny
The East Sussex Tactical Enforcement Unit uncovered the massive stash after tips from the UK Border Force, who intercepted a package of flick knives. The knives were believed to have been imported by a 68-year-old man selling them online.
Due to a serious health condition, the suspect wasn’t arrested but voluntarily met detectives for questioning. He has since been released while the investigation continues.
Police Warn: Knife Crime Puts Lives at Risk
“These harmful items have no place on our streets and we are committed to keeping East Sussex a safe place by preventing dangerous items entering our communities,” said Inspector Howard Nevill.
“Let me be absolutely clear that carrying knives is extremely dangerous and puts you and those around you at an increased risk of harm.”
Police reminded the public about knife amnesty bins located at stations across East Sussex, where knives can be handed in safely and anonymously. Don’t risk hurting yourself or others – bin the blade today.
