Police Release Images of Two Women After Shocking Racial Attack in Regents Park
Detectives are hunting two women involved in a nasty racially-aggravated assault in Regents Park.
Dog Attack Sparks Violent Assault on Elderly Couple
The drama unfolded just after 8am on 13 August when officers were called to the park following reports of a dog attack and a racial assault. Two women allegedly attacked a man and a woman, both in their 70s, after their dog went for the couple’s two dogs.
The 75-year-old woman suffered a nasty dog bite to her hand and had to be treated in hospital. Her 79-year-old partner was shoved to the ground and branded with cuts and bruises. Witnesses say the women hurled racial abuse at the victims during the attack.
Police Issue Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
After the incident, the suspects fled before police arrived. No arrests have been made yet.
“The park should be a place where people can walk their dogs in safety,” said Police Sergeant John Berry from the Met’s Royal Parks unit. “The level of aggression and violence used against this elderly couple was shocking. We urge anyone who recognises these women to come forward.”
How to Help Find the Attackers
Anyone with information or who recognises the two female dog walkers is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 1840/13Aug.
