Fifteen Beach Huts Raided in Night of Break-Ins!
Police are stepping up patrols along the Shanklin to Sandown revetment after a spree of break-ins at fifteen beach huts. All were targeted between 8pm on Friday 25 January and 10am the next morning.
Thieves didn’t just vandalise – one hut was looted of beach shoes, binoculars, and surf gloves.
Police on High Alert
Sergeant Georgina Leavold warned: “We’re boosting patrols and reviewing CCTV footage. We need the public to come forward if they saw anything suspicious.”
She added, “Don’t store valuables in beach huts. Lock doors and windows tight. Board up any gaps between the floor and door to stop thieves sneaking in.”
