Police Snag 14-Year-Old After Teen Group Flees

A 14-year-old boy was arrested after cops found a large machete during a stop and search at bustling London Bridge Station.

Officers on patrol near the station just before 4:05pm on February 4 spotted a gang of teens fleeing the scene. They quickly caught one lad and searched him, pulling out the deadly blade.

Arrest Made as Investigation Continues

The youngster was hauled in on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and taken into custody. He’s since been released on bail while police dig deeper.

“A 14-year-old boy was arrested following a proactive stop and search that uncovered a machete,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said. “Officers were patrolling around London Bridge Station at 16:06 on Tuesday when a group of teenage boys ran off. Officers caught one and found the weapon.”

“He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
