Hero Police Dog Slashed in Knife Attack in Birmingham

A brave West Midlands police dog was viciously attacked with a knife in Handsworth, Birmingham, early Saturday morning.

Knife-Wielding Thug Targets Police Dog Stark

At around 4am on Larch Avenue, police dog Stark and handler PC Paul Hopley responded to a break-in at nearby allotments. During the police operation, Stark was slashed on the head with a knife.

Despite his injury, the fearless dog bit the offender on the leg, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy. The youth faces charges for possession of an offensive weapon and assaulting a police dog.

Suspect Hospitalised, Two Others On The Run

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment before being held in police custody. Two other suspects reportedly escaped the scene.

Thankfully, Police Dog Stark is expected to make a full recovery.
