Police Officer Left Fighting for Life After Hit-and-Run in Bucks
Officer Seriously Injured in Stoke Poges
Thames Valley Police have launched a major probe after a serving cop was hit by a car and left critically injured in a hit-and-run.
PC Christopher Miller of the Roads Policing Unit was struck by a white BMW on B416 Bells Hill at around 10.20pm on Thursday, May 22. The driver sped off without stopping.
PC Miller suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital. His family and colleagues are being supported by specially trained officers.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
Detective Superintendent Will Crowther made a heartfelt plea:
“The BMW will have front-end damage from the crash. If you saw anything between 8pm and 1am or have dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage, please get in touch. Even small details could be crucial.”
Four Arrested as Investigation Gathers Pace
- Two Slough men, aged 28 and 38, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
- A 43-year-old man arrested for assisting an offender and perverting justice; now released on bail.
- A 37-year-old woman from Slough arrested on Saturday for similar offences; still in custody.

Deputy Chief Constable Ben Snuggs said:
“Christopher was simply doing his job—protecting the public. His bravery shows the selflessness of officers everywhere. This incident has deeply affected us. We stand united with his family.”
