Tragic New Year: Personal Trainer Shot Dead in Jamaica

Sean Patterson Murdered Days After Arrival

Lesley Wright, 33, of Hounslow, is heartbroken after her son Sean Patterson was fatally shot on New Year’s Day. The 33-year-old personal trainer was found with gunshot wounds to his head and upper body around midday on January 1, local police confirmed.

Sean had only been in Jamaica for a couple of days when tragedy struck. He was standing by a pool at the property he was staying at when witnesses reportedly heard loud gunfire. According to his mother:

“Someone pulled at his arm and he shrugged the person off but about four gunshots were fired immediately afterwards and Sean was hit in the upper body. I don’t know any other details, but he never fought with anyone.”

Dream Trip Ends in Horror

Sean had flown to Jamaica eager to meet family on his father’s side – relatives he never knew but hoped to connect with. His mum revealed:

“Through his father, Sean has family in Jamaica. They’re wealthy over there, and he’d hoped to meet them. He never had the opportunity.”

He had been enjoying himself, spending time with friends and even sending his mum photos of sunshine and videos of him diving into the sea. Wright said:

“He’d only been in Jamaica for two days with my godson and one of my best friends. He’d had the best time of his life.”

Fiance and Family Devastated

Sean, engaged for five years, had plans to marry his fiancée this year after over a decade together. His mother said the family and his partner are “in bits” over the shocking loss.

Wright stressed her son was no troublemaker:

“He was not the argumentative type. This has shocked us all.”

On social media, Sean’s sister Sarah Wright shared her grief:

“Well, that’s one way to start the new year knowing your baby brother was murdered in Jamaica. To say we are heartbroken would be an understatement. Ikkle, you get justice.”
