Chatham PCSO Duo Smash Massive Cannabis Grow

Vigilant PCSOs made a major drug bust after spotting a suspicious open door on Dale Street, Chatham.

On 16 September 2020, on foot patrol, the officers noticed the rear door of a house wide open. Curiosity got the better of them – and inside, they found a stash of cannabis plants.

Basement Blooms: 50 to 80 Plants Seized

Local Policing Team cops swooped and searched the property. Down in the basement, they uncovered between 50 and 80 small cannabis plants being grown. But that was just the start.

The ground and first floors housed about 60 pots with cut-down cannabis remains. The house was rammed with growing gear – including fertiliser and ventilation systems.

Grow-Op Busted, Investigation Rages On

The whole illegal operation has now been smashed up. Police are hunting for whoever’s been running the grow-op. No arrests so far, but inquiries are hot on the trail.

This bust is a reminder: our local PCSOs are always on the lookout, ready to strike against drug crime.
