Gun Drama Rocks Oldham: Trio Arrested After Daytime Shootout
Shock hit Oldham on Tuesday, May 7, when a firearm was discharged at a home on Prince Edward Avenue around 1pm. Armed police sprang into action, quickly tracing and arresting three suspects – all men in their 30s – inside a car in Chester.
Suspects Caught Red-Handed, Investigation Ramps Up
The trio now face charges of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear. A vehicle has been seized for forensic examination as detectives dig deeper into what’s described as a “brazen, targeted attack.”
Detective Inspector Clare Harrison said: “This brazen attack against a family was filmed and widely circulated on social media. Our investigation indicates it was targeted, with suspects travelling from Birmingham and Cheshire. Importantly, there is no risk to the wider public.”
Community on Edge – Police Boost Patrols
Locals are rattled by the incident, but authorities have reassured residents with increased police presence on the streets. A safeguarding plan is in place to support those affected.
DI Harrison warned: “Taking the law into your own hands is unacceptable. No matter where you live, if a crime happens in Greater Manchester, we will throw all resources at catching those responsible.”
