Tragic Crash Claims Life of Young Woman on Darlington Outskirts
A Mercedes C-Class careered off the A167 near Coatham Mundeville and slammed into a tree at around 3.15am on June 17. The car’s driver, 25-year-old Natalie Marshall, died instantly at the scene.
Family Mourns ‘Biggest and Strongest Personality’
Natalie’s family released a heartfelt statement, describing her as “a very well-loved daughter, sister, auntie, and friend.” They added, “We can’t express how we all feel about the loss of the biggest and strongest personality we’ve ever known. Natalie was the most hardworking and selfless young woman and would light up the room as soon as she walked in. This tragedy has truly broken our hearts. She has a special place in many people’s hearts.”
Passenger Seriously Injured, Police Seek Witnesses
The passenger, a man in his twenties, was rushed to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries and remains in care.
Durham Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from before the collision to come forward. Witnesses should contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 57 from June 17.
