On Sunday, 27 December, police swooped on a venue on Haverstock Hill, NW3, after reports of a crowd entering the premises. Inside the basement, officers found 10 men and 10 women flouting Tier 4 coronavirus restrictions.
Fines Issued for Flouting Lockdown
All 20 attendees were slapped with Fixed Penalty Notices for breaking Covid rules. The gathering was a clear breach amid strict lockdown measures.
Inspector Sounds Warning on Covid Risks
“To date, over 70,000 people in the UK have been lost to coronavirus,” said Inspector Alex Hope-Rollinson. “Breaches like these are selfish, thoughtless and put our community’s health at serious risk.
“I urge everyone to know their Tier 4 rules and avoid illegal gatherings. We must work together to protect our NHS in the months ahead.”
