Police hunt witnesses after violent assault in Sittingbourne’s High Street.

Violent Assault in Church Car Park

Two men were set upon near St Michael’s Church car park in Sittingbourne on the evening of Monday, 4 November 2019. Around 7.50pm, the victims were walking along the High Street when a group of youths started following them.

The gang pursued the men through the churchyard of St Michael’s Church and into the nearby car park on St Michael’s Road. There, both victims were punched to the ground and brutally attacked as they tried to defend themselves.

Injuries and Police Appeal

Both men suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

At the same time, the same group was also spotted throwing stones at a shop on the High Street, adding to the night’s chaos.

PC Richard Cousins, leading the investigation, said: “We believe there may be witnesses to this incident, but so far no one has come forward.”
