Tragic House Fire in Oswestry Claims Two Lives
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called out at 4.25am after the fire service reported a blaze at a home on Glentworth Close, Oswestry.
Paramedics Rush to Scene
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and a MERIT trauma doctor were dispatched immediately. On arrival, crews found police officers performing CPR on a woman rescued from the burning property. She was in a critical condition.
The ambulance team provided advanced life support before rushing her by blue lights to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Despite desperate efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Second Victim Dies at Scene
A second occupant, a man, was sadly confirmed dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
“When ambulance staff arrived, they found police colleagues administering CPR to one occupant, a woman, who had been rescued from the property and was in a critical condition,” a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
