Women, girls, and anyone feeling unsafe can now find refuge in local shops thanks to Warsop’s new Safe Space scheme. Up to 25 businesses will join this safety net, offering a secure haven for those in danger.

Safe Space Shops Get CCTV and Training

Participating stores will be fitted with 123. Local business owner Rachel Dunlop said, “It sounds like something Warsop really needs. If shop workers keep an eye out and work together, that’s got to be a good thing.”

Councillor Marion Bradshaw, Portfolio Holder for Safer Communities, said: “This funding ensures our community can feel safe. We’re working with police, schools, and charities supporting domestic abuse survivors. We’re empowering local businesses to be prepared, not scared, to take positive action.”

Warsop residents can soon feel safer knowing help is just a shop away.
