Police Hunt Man Exposing Himself Near Folkestone Schools

Officers are on the lookout after a string of alarming incidents near Jackson’s Field, Folkestone, where a man has been indecently exposing himself. The acts were reported between 8 and 17 November on several local roads.

Four Separate Incidents Spook Schoolgirls

  • On Wednesday 8 November, two schoolgirls told police a man followed them in Fort Pitt Street, flashing indecently between 10am and 10.20am.
  • The next day, Thursday 9 November, four schoolgirls saw a half-naked man lurking near shrubbery by the shops on Ordnance Street between 7.30am and 7.45am.
  • On Wednesday 15 November, at midday near Jackson’s Field on New Road, another report came in of a man exposing himself close to a hedge.
  • Finally, on Friday 17 November at 7.50am, three schoolgirls spotted a topless man on an unpaved road off Fort Pitt Hill.

Suspect Description and Police Appeal

The suspect is described as a slim, average-height white male. His clothing varied between sightings:

  • Black coat, grey tracksuit bottoms, black boots, a green hat, and carrying a black satchel-style bag.
  • Blue tracksuit with white stripes down the legs.

Detective Constable Sanj Tanday said: “I understand incidents of this nature can be alarming but I want to reassure the community that we are actively patrolling the area and continuing enquiries to locate the suspect. We are also working closely with local schools and stakeholders.”
