Shock in Croydon as Young Woman Fatally Stabbed
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have launched a murder probe after a 26-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in Croydon early Saturday morning. Officers rushed to Frith Road at about 9.07am on 31 May, but paramedics declared the victim dead at the scene.
Victim Identified as Marjama Osman
The woman has been named as Marjama Osman, a Croydon local. While formal ID is pending, police confirmed her family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
Two Men Arrested and Released on Bail
A 33-year-old man was detained at the scene on suspicion of murder. Another, aged 32, was arrested the following day, 1 June. Both suspects have now been released on bail as the Specialist Crime Command digs deeper into the case.
Detectives believe Marjama was stabbed inside a property on Frith Road before collapsing outside where she was found by emergency services.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, heading the investigation, said:
“We appreciate the public concern over this tragic incident. Marjama was attacked inside a home on Frith Road before collapsing in the street. Anyone who saw or heard anything around 08:30 to 09:30 BST on Saturday should contact police immediately.”
Officers are asking for anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area during that hour to come forward.
