Woman Seriously Injured in Horror M20 Crash Near Aylesford
A woman has been left seriously hurt after a devastating three-vehicle smash on the M20 near Aylesford, Kent. The crash happened just before 6pm on Friday, August 9, close to junction five on the coastbound carriageway.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service raced to the scene. The injured woman, believed to be in her 30s, was airlifted to a London hospital with severe injuries.
Man Arrested and Later Released on Bail
A 35-year-old man from Tonbridge was arrested in connection with the crash. He has since been released on bail, with a court return date set for November 10.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Kent Police are calling on anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. They say this could be crucial in piecing together what happened.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Emergency call handlers received reports just before 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 August 2024, of a three-vehicle collision close to junction five on the M20 coast-bound. A woman was flown to a London hospital with serious injuries, and a 35-year-old man from Tonbridge was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail until November 10.”
