London’s British Transport Police swooped in just after 7am on Wednesday, 19 June, after reports of a man armed with a firearm at Elm Park Underground station. Officers arrested a 61-year-old suspect on suspicion of firearm possession. He was swiftly taken into custody. Police are urging witnesses to come forward. Woman Faces Life-Changing Injuries After City Scooter-Cyclist Smash
Just hours later at 10.30pm, emergency teams rushed to the crash scene where a scooter collided with a cyclist at Cannon Street and Queen Street. Chief Inspector Steve Alison said:
“A woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service with potentially life-changing injuries. Investigations are ongoing.”
Dangerous Fall from Height on Lower Thames Street
On Tuesday evening at 8.45pm, paramedics responded to reports of a man who had fallen from height on Lower Thames Street. A spokesperson from London Ambulance Service confirmed they deployed a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, plus ambulances and specialist responders.
“Our first paramedics arrived in under five minutes. The injured man was treated on scene and rushed to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
Police Activity Near West Croydon Station
Police were also active on 18 June at the corner of North End and Tamworth Road near West Croydon Station. Witnesses reported a police cordon but details remain scarce.
