Boy hit by car in Margate – taken to hospital with serious injuries

A young boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on Fort Road near the Winter Gardens in Margate this evening (Wednesday, 26th April).

Major emergency response on site

The South East Coast Ambulance Service scrambled two ambulances, an ambulance officer, the SECAM “Hart” team, and Kent, Sussex and Surrey air ambulances to the crash scene. The boy was assessed as suffering from major trauma.

Road closures cause disruption

Fort Road remains closed, with emergency services expected to keep it cordoned off for several hours as investigations continue.
