Animal lover Karen Gittoes, who works at Marwell Wildlife, is on a mission to smash fundraising records with this year’s “£££’s for Pooches” Charity Dog Walk. She’s determined to top previous years’ totals to help battered dogs and cats across Asia and Romania.

Helping Dogs and Cats in Crisis

Many pets in Asia and Romania face horrific conditions—some even fall victim to the cruel meat and fur trades. Karen and her team are dedicated to raising vital funds to support charities and small rescue groups that save and care for these abandoned animals.

This year’s donations will go to:

  • K-9 Angels
  • Animals Asia
  • Nanu Madalina
  • Pat the Dogs

All these groups focus on rescuing and protecting vulnerable dogs and cats abroad.

Join The 20km Charity Walk

The walk covers a scenic 20-kilometre circular route through local woodlands and coastline. It kicks off at 9:45am on Sunday, March 13th, starting by the tennis courts on Sarisbury Green.

Walkers will enjoy a lunch stop at the Ferryman pub in Warsash, where the kind pub owners have donated their function room for the event. The walk finishes back at Sarisbury Green around 4pm.

All Walkers and Dogs Welcome – With a Cause

Every participant and their pooch will receive a goody bag as a thank you for taking part. Karen emphasises: “Everyone and their dogs are welcome.”

As this is a charity event, walkers are expected to raise sponsorship money to support the cause. Sponsorship forms are available on the event’s Facebook page.

Gear up for a day of fresh air, furry friends, and fundraising that could change lives miles away!
