Fire breaks out in High Rise Tower Block in Southampton

Six Fire crews and an aerial ladder platform have been called to a High Rise tower in Southampton after a fire broke out just after 4am this morning(Sunday 30th October 2016). Crews rushed to the scene after smoke could be seen billowing from a compressor room on roof of the multi floor Tower block. Fire Crews from St Marys supported by an aerial Hightown Redbridge and a command and control unit from Portchester attended the incident. No one is believed to have been hurt in the incident and the tower block was not evacuated. Crews tackled the fire in the compressor room. A spokeswoman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said That “Crews attended and dealt with a small fire in a compressor room that was luckily out on arrival” The spokeswoman did not give any further details.
