Major crash closes Southbound M3 motorway

Police are currently dealing with a multi-vehicle collision on the M3 between junctions 7 and 8 involving approximately 10 cars, including a car which subsequently caught fire. No serious injuries have been reported. As a result, a closure is in place on the southbound carriageway and traffic is being diverted off junction 8 towards the A303 westbound. Motorists heading south can then pick up the A34 southbound at Bullington Cross. The closure is anticipated to be in place for another hour, but due to traffic tailbacks you can expect delays for a few hours. If you are heading south, we advise seeking an alternative route.
