Chaos hit Drayton Manor this afternoon after an 11-year-old girl plummeted from the Splash Canyon ride and landed in the water below. The popular attraction was swiftly closed as emergency services scrambled to the scene.

Emergency Response Rushed to the Scene

The girl, on a school trip from Leicester, was quickly airlifted to Birmingham hospital following the terrifying fall. West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue were called at 2.18pm, dispatching an ambulance, senior paramedics, a first responder, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire. Help arrived within seven minutes.
