£700,000 Up For Grabs in New Hampshire Community Fund!
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) has just launched a massive new charity fund worth £700,000. Created by merging 27 trusts and charities from Hampshire County Council, this fund will dish out grants of up to £35,000 every year to residents all across Hampshire.
Who Benefits and How?
The fund expands HIWCF’s reach to support a wide range of causes. From kids leaving care to music scholarships, talented athletes, and school prizes for brilliant work across all subjects. There’s even a fund dedicated to older people’s care homes.
Cllr Andrew Joy, Hampshire County Council’s Alton Member and Board Trustee for HIWCF said: “Community Foundations have an excellent reputation for managing charitable funds to maximise their local impact. I’m thrilled HIWCF can now breathe new life into these trusts and help those in need across Hampshire.”
Big Plans to Tackle Community Issues
Grant Cornwell MBE, HIWCF’s Chief Executive, added: “We’ve worked with the Charity Commission to lift restrictions and update the trusts’ objectives, allowing us to give more to worthy causes. The reinvigorated funds will tackle poverty, education, health, and sport to fight deprivation across the region.”
Grants will stick to the original aims of each trust. Some are already open for applications—deadline 13 July 2018.
