Unfortunately, low tide made it tricky to reach the man directly. But he managed to wade through the shallow waters to safety, where waiting rescue crews and South Central Ambulance Service medics checked him over.
Dinghy Recovered and Safety Message Issued
The unmanned dinghy had drifted off but was safely retrieved by the lifeboat team. Portsmouth RNLI urged all water-goers to check weather conditions before heading out, especially at sea, and to call for help immediately if in trouble.
“We would always recommend that you check the weather conditions prior to going afloat, particularly on the sea. If you do get into difficulty, please call for assistance as soon as possible,” Portsmouth RNLI stated.
