Tragedy Outside Victoria Station as Woman Dies in Bus Crash
Disaster struck outside Victoria Railway Station at 8.25am on Tuesday, 10 August, when a collision involving two buses and three pedestrians ended in tragedy.
Melissa Killed at Scene Despite Emergency Efforts
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and began first aid immediately. Sadly, Melissa was pronounced dead at 9am. Two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated there and then.
Authorities confirmed all vehicles and pedestrians stopped at the scene, and no arrests have been made so far.
Family Mourns “Kind and Thoughtful” Melissa
A family spokesperson said: “We are absolutely devastated by the loss and the hole this incident has left in our lives. Melissa was a kind and thoughtful soul, had quirky charm and a bright future ahead.”
They added: “Right now we just want time and space to mourn our beautiful Melissa and send her to rest with her late father.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Constable Chris May of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This tragic incident claimed the life of a young woman, and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
“We are piecing together what happened and urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t yet spoken with police to come forward.”
