Crash Chaos Closes Malden Road
The A2043 Malden Road at the Cavendish Road junction is shut after a car crashed into street furniture, blocking the road completely.
The southbound side has been closed since around 1am this morning (Wednesday 14 July 2021), causing major disruption.
Fire Crews and Police Rush to Scene
Firefighters were called out after reports a car had collided with street furniture. Met Police officers quickly imposed a road closure to secure the area and clear wreckage.
Debris, including shattered glass, broken traffic lights, and vehicle parts, littered the street.
Driver Escapes Without Serious Injury
The driver walked away from the crash without serious harm, police confirmed. Officers say there was no police involvement with the vehicle prior to the collision.
Transport Disrupted – Bus Routes Diverted
The crash has blocked Malden Road in both directions at Cavendish Road. Local bus services 213, 265, and X26 have been forced onto diversion routes, causing delays.
Commuters are advised to expect travel disruptions until the road reopens.
