Yobs Torch £150K Cabin Cruiser on River Medway – Arson Probe Launched

An arson investigation is underway after two yob youths set fire to a £150,000 cabin cruiser on the River Medway in Maidstone just before midnight on Friday.

Blaze Engulfs £150K Vessel

The 9.5-metre boat, built by Marine Projects in 2002, went up in flames fast. Four fire crews and a water rescue boat raced to the scene on Hart Street as the fire ripped through the luxury cruiser.

Firefighters Rush to Rescue

Crews feared the vessel might have been occupied and there was a real danger of explosion from fuel tanks. They searched the boat quickly while tackling the inferno with foam and hose reels.

Yobs Spotted Setting Fire

Witnesses reported seeing two youths on pushbikes moments before the blaze started, setting the boat alight deliberately. Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed a joint probe with Kent Police is now underway to find the culprits.
