Body Found Near Wapping

The tragic mystery of missing man Gurbaksh “Simon” Sually came to a grim end on 13 December when his body was recovered from the River Thames near Wapping. The 37-year-old had been missing since 23 November 2024, disappearing after last being seen in London’s Bishopsgate and Hackney areas.

Family’s Heartbreaking Search

Following his disappearance, Mr Sually’s family launched an intense search campaign. His brother Mohinder revealed the emotional strain: “We are all so stressed. We’ve been into all the bars, pubs, and everywhere we can think of in Ipswich. People have been really helpful by putting up flyers. At first, it feels positive, but after two or three days without anything concrete, you start to feel really disheartened and worried.”

Adding to the mystery, Mr. Sually’s phone was reportedly active in Ipswich early on 28 November, deepening questions about his movements before vanishing.

Investigation Ends, Cause of Death Unconfirmed

Police confirmed the body’s identification but have yet to determine the cause of death. CCTV footage showed Mr. Sually walking alone along the riverbank before entering the water, with no signs of foul play or third-party involvement. Officers say the circumstances do not appear suspicious and have now closed the investigation.
