Tragic End to Logan Slater’s Disappearance in West Yorkshire
A 14-year-old boy, Logan Slater, has been found dead after vanishing on his way to school in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. The Brighouse High School student left his home at around 7:45am on Monday but never arrived at school. His body was discovered on Thursday, October 24, near Beechwood Park.
Police Refer Themselves to IOPC Over Handling of Logan’s Case
West Yorkshire Police have launched a self-referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). This follows several calls reporting Logan missing and questions over how the police handled the case.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “As multiple calls were made about this missing person, a mandatory referral has been made to the IOPC to review the actions taken by West Yorkshire Police.”
School Pays Emotional Tribute to Promising Pupil
Headteacher Richard Horsfield described Logan as a “valued member” of the school community with a wide circle of friends. He added:
“It was a particular pleasure to see his love and enthusiasm for PE, especially within rugby, grow over the years he spent with us. We will continue to think of his family and all of his friends at this very sad time.”
“We are grateful for the time we spent with him and deeply saddened that it ended so abruptly.”
