The Brewery Shopping Centre Slaps £1 Sunday Parking Charge on Surface Lot
The Brewery shopping centre is stirring up shoppers with a fresh parking fee. Starting September 21, a £1 charge will hit the surface level car park on Sundays — the first time Sunday parking at the centre won’t be free.
Free Sunday Parking Ends for Surface Lot
Until now, both the surface and multi-storey car parks offered free Sunday parking. But brace yourselves: the £1 Sunday Parking Charge will apply only to the surface level lot, which holds 616 spaces, including 50 for disabled drivers. Multi-storey parking remains free for now.
Surface Lot Parking Already Costs More on Saturdays
Surface parking charges have always been steeper than the multi-storey rates. On Saturdays, surface spots cost at least £1.25, so the new £1 Sunday fee looks like a move to better manage surface parking demand rather than a hefty squeeze on shoppers.
Shoppers Warned as New Fee Approaches
A clear notice is now posted at the surface car park entrance, reading: “From September 21 £1 surface level parking on Sundays. FREE multi-storey parking on Sundays.” The Brewery is making sure no one misses the new Sunday price tag ahead of launch.
