Brighton Joins Eurovision Grand Final Screenings Across UK
Brighton is jumping on the Eurovision bandwagon! The city will host an official live screening of the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final 2023 on Saturday, 13 May. It’s set to be one of several UK hotspots where fans can unite to celebrate the world’s biggest music spectacle.
Thousands Expected to Watch Together
Backed by the BBC and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Brighton event promises thousands of fans a chance to soak up the Eurovision magic in a lively setting. This screening is part of a wider programme of events happening in participating cities, with more details to drop soon.
Nationwide Celebrations with a Purpose
Eurovision Minister Stuart Andrew insists the festivities aren’t just about Liverpool—the host city of this year’s Grand Final.
“Eurovision is about what unites us and showcasing our steadfast support for Ukraine,” he said. “With over £1 million in funding, more than 30 UK cities will have large screens so fans can celebrate together in true Eurovision style.”
Martin Green CBE, BBC Managing Director of Eurovision, added: “Expanding the event to more cities gives both new and old fans the unique joy of watching the Grand Final surrounded by thousands of fellow music lovers right in their own hometown.”
Brighton and Other UK Cities Gear Up for Eurovision Madness
Brighton joins a growing list of official screening locations that include Birmingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Sheffield. More cities will be revealed shortly.
The Eurovision Grand Final will also air live on BBC One, with the BBC helping cities roll out the red carpet for as many fans as possible to join in on the fun.
