British Airways logos were spotted being ripped off the iconic Brighton i360 last night. Locals watched as the branding vanished, signaling the end of a sponsorship deal that lasted years.
Goodbye British Airways, Hello Brighton
From this morning, the famous observation tower will drop the airline name and simply be called the Brighton i360. The owners say ditching the sponsor will “further align the attraction to the city of Brighton and Hove.”
Financial Struggles Hit Hard
The move follows tough times for the i360, which lost around £5 million during the pandemic peak. On top of that, the council still owes a massive £48 million on the project.
Without British Airways on board, it’s a new chapter for Brighton’s landmark – one that puts the city front and centre.
