BA Euroflyer Soars with Official Approval from UK Aviation Bosses!
After a buzzing first summer at London Gatwick, BA Euroflyer—a British Airways subsidiary—has finally bagged its very own Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) and Operating Licence from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This big win means the airline can now fly independently, stepping up its game in the short-haul market.
From Start-Up to Standalone Star
Launched in March 2022 under the British Airways umbrella, BA Euroflyer brought international short-haul flights back to Gatwick after Covid slammed the brakes. This summer alone, it soared to over 30 destinations, including hotspots like Amsterdam, Santorini, and Marrakech. Hundreds of fresh flight crew, cabin staff, and office workers have joined the ranks, ready to keep the premium BA service flying high.
New Licence, Bigger Fleet, Same Top-Notch Service
Tom Stoddart, Acting CEO of BA Euroflyer, celebrated the milestone, saying:
“Receiving the AOC is a momentous day in the BA Euroflyer journey and is testament to the hard work of the brilliant teams that have worked closely with the UK Civil Aviation Authority on the AOC and Operating Licence applications, whilst also managing the ramp-up of a start-up airline during its first summer of operations.”
Over the next six months, ten Airbus A320s and nine A321s will switch from British Airways over to BA Euroflyer. One A320 (registration G-GATL) has already landed with the new fleet. Flight and cabin crews are now taking special Operator’s Conversion Courses to fly under the fresh licence.
Flying Premium Without the Premium Price Tag
Passengers on BA Euroflyer enjoy the full British Airways experience: generous baggage allowance, free drinks and snacks, early seat selection, and access to lounges for frequent flyers. Club Europe passengers get the royal treatment with premium check-in, lounge access, and gourmet meals with bar service on board.
Looking ahead to Summer 2023, BA Euroflyer plans flights from Gatwick to over 30 destinations including Bari, Dubrovnik, and Seville. Flights start from just £39 each way—book now and get soaring!
